Aviation Boulevard may become four lanes
You may have a wider choice of options when it come to traveling to stores and services west of town
in a few years. Aviation Boulevard will serve as a more viable alternative to State Road 60 when the
road becomes a four lane highway. Construction on Aviation Boulevard, between US1 and 43rd Avenue,
could begin next year. The design for the project, which will include walkways and bike paths, is about
60 percent complete. In addition to the widening, officials continue to look at possibilities at a possible
extension of the road east to Indian River Boulevard.

PROPERTY ABROAD: HIDDEN FLORIDA
In this article Robert Liebman refers to Vero Beach as the Hidden Florida. He writes about one of "Florida's best kept secrets is our Indian River, a gentle, narrow 150-mile-long waterway that starts north of Miami near Palm Beach and extends northward almost to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center".
"The lagoon is a haven to homeowners. The amount of waterside land is enormous, comprising three coastlines; the Atlantic alongside the unbroken string of beaches on the eastern seaboard, plus the western and eastern boundaries of the river. Even more land is provided by the irregular shape of the river, which forms many coves and inlets. Some of the area's more stunning residential areas have been established in these parts of the lagoon", Liebman writes.
He goes on to discuss how attractive prices are now for the British homebuyers. I have a link to this very interesting article.

BRITISH BUYERS AND BRITISH PRESS FOCUS ON U.S. REAL ESTATE, REPORTS PRIVATE COMMUNITIES.COM
In this article it refers to, "British citizens are invading the American real estate market, buying vacation homes that offer excellent value to foreign buyers with British pounds in their wallets."
Elisabeth Miller-Fox, president of PrivateCommunities.com, a Vero Beach, based firm, is quoted with this statement - "The influx of British buyers has been significant. In their eyes, real estate in the U.S. is an incredible deal. Interestingly, the British press has been picking up on the story and momentum is building". She goes on to say that several such stories have appeared in the British press lately. "The British news reports pour fuel on the fire of this buying trend," Miller-Fox said.
She notes that European buyers accounted for 33% of the foreign buying activity in the U.S. over the last year. Florida is the top spot for the British buyers. Nearly half of the buyers from the UK purchased homes in Florida. Homes in gated communities were popular because of the security and maintenance benefit.
